Arkansas Community Foundation engages people, connects resources and inspires solutions to build community. The Community Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit organization working statewide that offers tools to help Arkansans protect, grow and direct charitable dollars while learning more about community needs.

By making grants and sharing knowledge, the Community Foundation supports charitable programs that work for Arkansas and partners with others to create new initiatives that address the gaps. Since 1976, we’ve provided more than $460 million in grants and partnered with thousands of Arkansans to help them improve our neighborhoods, our towns and our entire state.

We work locally through a network of 29 affiliate offices, each with a local staff presence and advisory board. Affiliates have responsibility for local donor services, fund development, community leadership initiatives and administration, bringing the full services of the Community Foundation to the counties they serve.

ENGAGE Magazine takes a deep dive into issues such as economic development, early childhood education, needs of aging Arkansans, homelessness, healthcare and community activism. GRANTMAKING

Grants Support Nonprofits in Arkansas Arkansas Community Foundation makes thousands of grants every year statewide. We have multiple grant programs to address a variety of needs facing Arkansans. Read below to find out the different grant opportunities we offer: Giving Tree is Arkansas Community Foundation’s signature grant program. Giving Tree endowments are pooled charitable funds at the local and state levels that make annual grants through two competitive grant cycles. These funds support a variety of causes based on changing community needs. Committees of local leaders in each of our 29 affiliate offices determine the best use of Giving Tree grant funds. By providing unique insight about each local community and its needs, these leaders ensure Giving Tree funds are used wisely for the long-term.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS

Partnerships Boost Statewide Impact When special program opportunities arise, Arkansas Community Foundation works with trusted partners to improve our communities. Some of the partnerships include: EXCEL BY EIGHT Arkansas Community Foundation partners with Excel by Eight to help Arkansas students read at grade level by the end of third grade. The Foundation is focusing attention on the need to reach grade-level proficiency through grants to chronic absence prevention, summer learning opportunities, kindergarten readiness, parent involvement and classroom instruction. ARKANSAS IMPACT PHILANTHROPY We’re stronger when we work together. That’s the idea behind Arkansas Impact Philanthropy (AIP), a team of foundations and businesses who award grant dollars in Arkansas. The Community Foundation serves as the “home” of AIP as well as a member of its steering committee. Together, AIP members work toward a more inclusive Arkansas where everyone thrives, looking for key issues member organizations can support together to move Arkansas forward. Since its founding in 2017, AIP has focused on ensuring a fair and accurate count for the Arkansas 2020 census and providing health and educational support for children during the critical early childhood years.
