South Carolina Farm Bureau (SCFB) is a statewide organization that brings together farmers, ranchers, entrepreneurs, agribusiness professionals and food enthusiasts to strengthen the future of agriculture in South Carolina. We inform lawmakers about the impact of policies, train young farmers about getting started and help educate teachers and students about agriculture.

The mission of SC Farm Bureau is to promote agricultural interests in the state of South Carolina and optimize the lives of those involved in agriculture while being respectful to the needs and concerns of all citizens of our state.

Grassroots Organization
We’re a grassroots organization, which means your insights shape our initiatives and our strategies. You’re the experts on food and farming, and we’re the connectors, the organizers and the legislative minds. We believe that collective efforts best position us to advance family farms, locally grown food and rural South Carolina.

How does it work? Members of County Farm Bureau Chapters organize to build a strong, unified “Voice of Agriculture” by engaging in education, outreach, leadership development, policy development and legislative advocacy.

Farm Bureau provides a vehicle for farmers to work together to develop unified policy positions. Farm Bureau promotes this policy at the local, state and national levels through volunteer leaders and a team of professional staff.

By connecting farmers to the larger community, we cultivate understanding about agriculture’s importance to our local economies. We deepen our collective knowledge of who, where, and how food grows. We empower people to make informed choices. We grow mutually beneficial relationships. And, we ensure the future of the family farms, food and rural lands we love.

They’re out serving their communities, engaging with our members and local farmers, and bringing folks together for the next event, activity, or service opportunity. Whether it’s throwing a family-friendly BBQ, teaming up for a 4-H contest, touring area farms, sponsoring scholarships and young farmers, or helping with Ag in the Classroom, our county offices do it all, and they’ll be even stronger with your involvement.

From bees to beans, South Carolina Farm Bureau really is ALL about agriculture. We have twenty advisory committees to ensure that all kinds of farms are represented both in Columbia and in Washington, D.C.

These committees are made up of our best-informed farmer members with extensive knowledge of agricultural issues and provide an opportunity to discuss and recommend solutions in pursuit of policy implementation.

Young Farmers & Ranchers

Connecting and empowering young farmers, ranchers, agribusiness professionals and ag-enthusiasts. Young Farmers & Ranchers is a program for members between the ages of 18-35 who are actively involved in or interested in supporting agriculture. This program seeks to connect and empower YF&R’s through networking opportunities, education, and leadership development. As the next generation of producers and agricultural leaders, YF&R’s benefit from a strong network and united voice that will enable them to continue to provide the food, fiber, and fuel for the world.

Health and Wellness

Stress on America's farms is at an all time high, but we're here to help. South Carolina Farm Bureau's SC AgriWellness program brings mental health services into farmers’ homes. SC AgriWellness, administered by First Sun EAP, makes counseling services available to South Carolina farmers and their families free of charge. By providing access to a wealth of professional services, SC AgriWellness is a resource to support farmers as they navigate the many issues contributing to overwhelming stress affecting the well-being of South Carolina farmers and farm families.

Outreach & Leadership

We bring passionate people together to make South Carolina agriculture stronger. Our outreach and leadership programs bring together members who share similar interests. We offer unique opportunities to build relationships, serve your community, impact farm policy and lead at the local, regional and national levels.

Ag Education

We share our food and farming knowledge and resources with our teachers, students, and communities. We share food and farming lessons across the state through our education foundation and other resources. As experts in food production, we value opportunities to educate our communities about where their food comes from.

Agriculture Advocacy

We generate solutions for our most challenging agriculture issues. We use your food and farming insights to create a strategic pro-ag policy plan. We listen to our member's concerns, challenges, and ideas, and we bring those issues to life for lawmakers in SC and DC. We also encourage our members and the larger community to be active participants in all areas of government – through voting, grassroots initiatives, engaging neighbors in conversation, serving on action committees, or serving as an elected official.

Ag in the Classroom

We bring food and farming lessons to classrooms with our mobile farm, free curricula, and teaching workshops.

Ag Resources for Students

We host an annual youth conference and provide scholarships for students with an interest in studying agriculture.
