Capper Foundation
For ten decades, Capper Foundation has brought hope to thousands of infants, children and adults with disabilities and their families in Kansas. We provide therapy services, home and community-based support and resources to enhance the lives of those served.
Children Services
Our Pediatric Services provide custom, personalized treatment plans for children, teens, and young adults (infant to 21 years), with disabilities or injuries. Our therapists use cutting-edge interventions disguised as fun activities, providing them a chance to thrive in their own environment. Our goal is to help them gain their highest level of independence as they grow into adults and enjoy living a fulfilled life.
Day Services
Capper programs provide the opportunity for adults to enhance social skills and expand their experiences. Skill development, education, recreation, and leisure participation are key components of our Adult Day Services, striving to integrate individuals served in community settings. On-site employment opportunities are available at all three of our office locations.
Residential Services
We actively support individuals as they aim to remain in the community in a living arrangement of their choice. The services provided represent a partnership to create a safe, secure environment with the supports needed to experience a variety of opportunities and foster independence.
Business Support Center
Our Business Support Center is a full-service mail production site, providing employment for people with disabilities. It meets the needs of our local community by providing a variety of print and mail services.
Training
Development of staff, families and community are key to future achievements for those receiving services and for those interacting with individuals with disabilities in the community. Capper Foundation provides training and workshops for professionals in the health services industry requiring CEU’s, as well as local businesses.
Professional & Family Training
Our Professional & Family Training opportunities are designed for direct service providers, parents/guardians, and family members with the goal of equipping them with techniques and strategies to enhance the independence of their loved ones living with disabilities.
We provide customized in-service training for individuals or small groups who are health care providers, daycare providers, educators, and paraprofessionals. Custom workshops can be designed by choosing the topic(s), schedule, and location as well as incorporating multiple topics and instructors to maximize your training.
Ability Awareness Training
Some people are uncomfortable talking with people with disabilities. This interactive course gives some basic tips to help comfort levels of interacting with people with disabilities, and to help people with disabilities more enjoy interacting with you. This training is made available to businesses, organizations, schools and other groups.
Mandt System
The Mandt System is a comprehensive, integrated approach to preventing, de-escalating, and if necessary, intervening when the behavior of an individual poses a threat of harm to themselves and/or others. The focus of The Mandt System is on building healthy relationships between all the stakeholders in human service settings in order to facilitate the development of an organizational culture that provides the emotional, psychological, and physical safety needed in order to teach new behaviors to replace the behaviors that are labeled “challenging”. Capper Foundation regularly hosts Mandt System training, and makes it available to other service providers.
Donate & Ways to Give
YOU can help infants, children, teens, and adults be the best they can be!
Your support of Capper Foundation is critical, and very appreciated. The high quality services provided to individuals with disabilities could not be possible without the hearts and generosity of our friends and local business partners. We build abilities together!
Giving comes in many ways – charitable cash donations, Required Minimum Distributions (RMD), direct donations from an IRA, in-kind donations, stock or property donations, memorials and honorariums, personal fundraising initiatives, event fundraising and sponsorship, and legacy giving that continues beyond your lifetime. Your generosity, however received, truly helps us make a difference in the lives of individuals we serve.
